Vinous Josh Raynolds - 01 Jul 10
Saturated ruby. Powerful, pungent aromas of red- and blackcurrant, candied cherry, dried flowers, mint and pipe tobacco, with a smoky overtone of vanillin oak. Broad but focused, offering deep dark berry flavors and notes of bitter cherry, floral pastilles and smoky herbs. Gains sweetness with air and becomes more tannic but there are no hard edges here. The herb and vanilla notes echo through a very long, sweet finish. I'd hold off on drinking this deep wine for at least another ten years. This was raised in 100% new American oak hogsheads.

Inside Bordeaux Jane Anson - 29 May 24
A hit of cola on the opening beats, with marked salinity that heads over towards oyster shell, tannins are layering up pretty quickly, less generous than some, plenty of Cabernet character, concentrated black fruits, an edge of raspberry leaf, this is fresh and mouthwatering. Dominant Padthaway fruit sourcing. 100% new American oak.
